Title: Software Engineer
Location: Hayward, CA

General Position Summary:
The Software Development Engineer is responsible for all phases of the software development lifecycle for major subsystems or sets of application functionality. The position involves daily interaction with other team members to deliver a quality product in a timely manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Analyzes, programs, debugs and modifies computer programs for end user applications. Designs and develops software systems in conjunction with hardware products. Performs design changes for product improvements/upgrades keeping in mind cost and time constraints. Formulates and designs software system using standard models and analysis. Coordinates with various hardware companies and designs software interfaces based on their specifications. Conducts tests, both unit and integration testing. Completes documentation and procedures for installation, operation and maintenance of the software. Provides input on program schedule and accurate estimation of project deadlines. Resolves programming problems. Works with Quality Engineering and Support staff to resolve problems with released software.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Minimum educational level:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field, or equivalent combination of education.
• 2 years of experience in programming computer applications, and knowledge of software documentation, utilities and job control languages.


Required knowledge, skills & abilities:
• Learn to use professional concepts and company processes to solve routine problems.
• Work on problems of limited scope and complexity.
• Exercise judgment within standard processes in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained.
• Normally receives general instructions on all assignments.
• Requires in depth, working knowledge of major areas of software engineering.
• Demonstrated work history of successful application of concepts of typical problem solving within specialty.
• Needs the following programming skills: Visual Basic 6.0, ASP, MS SQL 6.5 or 7.0, COM, DCOM, MTS, ATL, Windows development experience, Structure Query Language (SQL), Object Oriented analysis, design and programming and Bio-Metrics.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Self-starter, high energy.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Ability to work with 'team spirit' as a member of Product Development.

Title: Firewall/Network Systems Analyst

The Firewall/Network Systems Analyst is responsible for maintaining network security and corporate servers. The position involves daily interaction with other team members.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Discover and investigate Firewall and Network suspect behavior. Maintain knowledge of current industry trends and developments within the network and firewall industry. The candidate must be able to use a variety of network tools in an effort to provide a performance baseline. Utilize protocol analyzers at a senior level and to lead investigative efforts of suspect discoveries. Must be able to make technology and configuration recommendations. Must be able to compare competing technologies through product evaluations. Be proactive position in securing network and perimeter communications.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Minimum educational level:
BS/BA Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent work experience.


Required knowledge, skills & abilities:

Ability to work within a team.
Ability to recognize customer requirements and consistently provide customer satisfaction.
Attention to detail a must skill.
Good written and oral communications skills.
Sound understanding of the OSI model.
Must have strong, in-depth TCP/IP comprehension.
Familiar with data switches and routers.
Ability to formulate project plans, scope of work, technical documentation, and presentations.
Experience with Visio and MS Office Suite.
Able to analyze syslog entries in depth.
Ability to write scripts to automate tasks; preferably Perl.
Able to correlate disparate data to formulate hypothesis.

Maximizes ordering efficiencies at the store level by coaching the Merchandising Cycle and analyzing store level 2B reports and HQIA information. Ensures key processes are in place in the store, by reviewing data in the store, completing store walks and providing on-going coaching to improve the process. Monitors all aspects of store operations, providing advice, coaching and assistance to the store management. Reviews and analyzes reports, identifies potential problems and uses the 4-Step Process. Establishes and maintains plans to achieve or exceed budget for subgroup. Coaches and trains Franchisees on establishing plan to help them achieve or exceed their store's budget.
